Key Details:

  • Title: Phlebotomist
  • Pay: $18.50 - $22.50/hour DOE
  • Bilingual Pay Policy: We also have a Bilingual Pay Policy! If you pass the language proficiency test, you are eligible to receive a $1.25 per hour increase
  • Schedule: Full-time; M-F; rotating shifts between 8 am – 6:30 pm
  • Location: 18633 SE Stark St., Suite 401 – Portland, OR

Who You Are: 

  • You have a certification from a nationally accredited phlebotomy program (you're certified and ready to make a difference!)
  • Current BLS certification (you're prepared for anything)
  • Stellar organizational skills (you keep things running smoothly, no sweat)

  • Friendly, effective communication (you can put anyone at ease, even when a needle’s involved)

  • Able to perform the essential functions of this role with or without reasonable accommodation

What You’ll Do: As a Phlebotomist at Wallace, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring smooth patient care and clinic flow. Here's what's on your plate:

 

  • Skillfully collect blood samples and provide Point of Care Testing
  • Ensure proper patient identification and accurately label vials
  • Verify test requisitions with patients to ensure accuracy
  • Use your expertise to determine the best method for drawing blood, keeping each patient’s needs in mind
  • Safely centrifuge blood samples for processing
  • Deliver friendly, compassionate care to every patient
  • Always practice infection control to keep both patients and equipment safe
  • Follow up on non-resulted labs using Beacon or by contacting LabCorp to get orders resolved
  • Keep thorough, accurate documentation of all your work

 

As a Wallace Team Member:

  • Participate in daily care team huddles to ensure smooth operations and patient care
  • Pitch in with medical office tasks and clerical duties as needed
  • Keep examination rooms and the lab stocked with supplies and ready for patient care
  • Build and maintain strong, positive relationships with staff, volunteers, and patients
  • Take part in quality improvement initiatives and meetings
  • Always uphold strict confidentiality with patient, staff, and organizational information
  • Be flexible, taking on other duties as assigned to help keep things running smoothly
